I began my working career in Nelson with iconic New Zealand shipping company The Union
Steamship Company as a junior office clerk and container controller. It was in this
environment that my first business venture, a very small operation selling shipping
containers locally in Nelson began in 1990.
This business has undergone major growth in the last 5 years morphing into several
companies focussed on specific areas of the container industry and following recent
acquisitions is firmly established at the No2 domestic container company in New
Zealand.
My specific areas of expertise are in marketing & branding, and in managing businesses
from a strategic perspective.
It is these skills that I bring to the mix of personnel at ecogise. I am looking forward to
developing ecogise into New Zealand’s most easily recognisable “high quality” sustainable
energy brand.
Raised in a tropical environment in Papua New Guinea; I have a strong affinity to the earth
which includes a passion for geology and volcanism.
I believe strongly that all business should be operated with minimal disruption to the
environment and in particular believe that as human beings we should strive to seek balance
in all aspects of our lives including our individual balance.
Mankind has been pillaging Mother Nature for too long and as individuals we must make
decisions that when combined as a collective redress the balance, not only for our future
generations, but for the future of the planet as a whole.
Thus my decision to become involved in a sustainable energy company was really very simple
once the opportunity arrived.
