We have recently completed an off-grid house for Mr and Mrs Elliot who live near Maruia
Falls. The Elliots are farmers and have built themselves a new home on a piece of their land
with fantastic views of the farm, surrounding hills and the Maruia river below.
To connect their home to the mains power grid would have cost around $100,000. ecogise was
able to install a solar powered system for the house which cost less than $40,000.
The Elliots have been incredibly impressed with their solar system's ability to supply their
power requirements even during the recent bad weather and commented that it is just like
living in a mains powered home.
